iCarta iPod Stereo Dock and Bath Tissue Holder

I was totally amused when I found this from Apple.

I thought that it is more appropriate to call it iPoo instead. It is quite a cool gadget which is a toilet paper holder with a built in iPod dock and stereo speakers. You can listen to music whilst in the bathroom. The only issue is that it’s like 5 times larger than any other toilet paper holder and it needs to be plugged in. That said, it’s definitely better than your old waterproof shower radio. I think I will get one for my parents as Christmas present.

Jerry Yang decides he’s no longer the right CEO for YAHOO

This is the most unbelievable news of all time for the IT industry. Yahoo Inc. founder Jerry Yang has decided to step down as the CEO. WOW!

His emotional attachment is one of the reasons he balked at a $47.5 billion takeover offer from Microsoft Corp. six months ago. The same devotion finally led Yang to conclude he should step aside as chief executive, as the company seeks to bolster its depressed stock price and sagging earnings in an economic downturn that might prove even more wrenching than the dot-com bust of eight years ago.

Yang’s surrendering of the CEO reins, announced Monday, won’t occur until Yahoo finds a suitable replacement. The Sunnyvale-based company said it is interviewing candidates inside and outside Yahoo in a search led by its chairman, Roy Bostock, and the executive recruitment firm Heidrick & Struggles.

It didn’t take long for analysts to conclude Yang’s departure will clear the way for a major overhaul that could culminate in Yahoo’s sale to Microsoft — something Yang refused to do in May, to the great irritation of shareholders.

“We still believe Microsoft will eventually own Yahoo,” UBS analyst Benjamin Schachter wrote in a research note late Monday. “Jerry moving out of the CEO role may accelerate this.”

James Bond 007 movie – Quantum of Solace

Finally, the new James Bond movie “Quantum of Solace” is now showing in different parts of the world. This latest movie is the sequel to box office hit Casino Royale starring Daniel Craig as the world’s most famous fictional spy.

Bond shows no mercy as he crosses Europe and South America to discover why the woman he loved betrayed him before she died. He also battles evil eco-terrorist Dominic Greene who wants to install an exiled general in what is supposed to be Bolivia in exchange for land containing huge natural resources.

In a complex web of diplomacy and deceit, the secret agent falls foul both of his enemy and British and US intelligence.

I caught this movie last night and it is was full of action and bombing. Basically, not much of acting to talk about. All you could see is fighting, shooting, bombing and great stunts.

Jennifer Aniston calls Angeline Jolie behaviour “uncool”

In the three years since Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston ended their Hollywood marriage, Aniston has barely said a word about the break-up and the woman who stole Pitt’s heart, Angelina Jolie.

But in an interview for the latest December issue of Vogue magazine, Aniston finally talks about the split and the Oscar-winning actress who is now Pitt’s companion, saying the way Jolie revealed details of her relationship with “Ocean’s Eleven” star was “really uncool.”

Aniston, 39, told Vogue Jolie should not have given a detailed account of how her relationship with Pitt developed on the set of the 2005 movie “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” when Aniston and Pitt were still together. Those details were revealed in Jolie’s 2007 interview with Vogue.

I felt so sad when Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt divorced. Sigh…
