Andy Waite, 42, of Fordham, who bought a VW Mk 1 Golf for £50 in 1979, has modified his 30 year-old car to beat a modern day £1m supercar. Andy spent around £60,000 on modifications, installing a custom-built turbocharged engine that scorches his car from 0-60mph in just 2.36 seconds. Yes, even faster than the Veyron by a tenth of a second.
